Abstract:

A one-semester course in a two-semester sequence required of students who intend to teach at the elementary level. The course includes numeration; the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in the decimal system; integers; rational numbers; decimal fractions; proportions; percent; algebra arising from linear patterns. This course is about learning fundamental concepts that comprise the elementary school curriculum.
